Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg houses one of the country's largest and most central collections of Vilhelm Lundstrøm's works. On this guided tour, we explore the development of his artistry—from his early experiments that sparked both scandal and admiration, to the mature works that have established him as an icon of Danish modernism. Along the way, we delve into the distinct periods characterizing Lundstrøm's art. We take a closer look at his cubist collages, striking packing crate montages, purist arrangements, and richly colored paintings where form, color, and composition are central. Together, we discover an artistic journey spanning from his initial experiments to the works now regarded as masterpieces of Danish modernism.
